Cheese Alert

There are some half decent Rieslings to be had nowadays..

Well Naked Wines sent me a mystery half case, having signed up to this mystery deal for a tenner. Imagine my horror when I opened the box and there were 6 German Rieslings sat there.

Actually, like you say, they turned out to be pretty decent.

When it comes to white wine my preference has always been for German wines.

There was a time when Tescos had a very good selection of estate bottled 'Chateau' wines but sadly they stopped doing them.

My preference is for a Mosel. Riesling being a Mosel wine. Cheap and cheerful and very gluggable for me is Deinhard Green Label mosel (now called Riesling) Try doing a search for it on Amazon:cool:

To try to limit it to just one or two is a travesty ... depends on the wine & the mood. But put some Roquefort and some Savoie on a plate, alongside an artisanal Cheddar, and I'd not be unhappy.

Interesting that St Agur made it onto someones list. Not bad for a single company's marketing brand "industrially" invented about 30 years ago.
