well just about found the energy to post, am aching all over after my 1st 36 holes in a day (most of which from the rough).

Was a pleasure meeting everyone especially my playing partners Richard (RichardC), Rob (Full_Throttle), Gary (Region3) and his mate Andy who certainly brought more than a few smiles to my face in the afternoon. Not just the company but enduring my many visits to the rough :(

The course was too tough for me and I realise my golf is miles away from being anywhere near half decent or consistant.

The biggest thrill was the 1st hole as I was bricking it but nailed my drive, hit the green in 2 (albeit with a topped iron shot) and 1 putted for a birdie, also my 1st ever birdie anywhere :D

I scored 23 1st round and only 15 second.

I now have plenty to work on golf wise but even if I am still crap I would deffo attend future meets as it was a great day all round.

Good meeting you yesterday mate, shame we didn't all have longer to chew the fat before/after the golf, but you're limited when you're on the golf course for 8 hours! That actually goes for everyone. Wish I'd had time to meet everyone proper.

I'm absolutely dead on my feet today and it will probably be even less productive than it usually is!

For someone that's not played very long, those scores are more than respectable mate, especially with the wind! Even the more seasoned golfers struggled, it would seem.

I can guarantee you that your afternoon score will be a direct result of tiredness and your body/mind not being used to 36 holes.

I can't believe I beat my morning score, and probably wouldn't have done if it wasn't for a couple of 3 pointers to start the round.

I can categorically say that yesterday was the second toughest test of golf I've ever experienced, and I'd happily do it all over again. Such a fantastic course.

Keep at it Gibbo, look forward to seeing you at forum meets in the future.

Ok who was passing themselves off as me ??    First time anyone has said it was a pleasure playing with me.

Come on i want names !!

Yep, cheers to all those who were subjected to playing with me, and to Region 3 for organising it. Had a great day, pity I couldn't stay for the meal, but I figured if I missed out then I would be home in a sensible time (not midnight after a 6am start).

Fantastic course, wish I could have done it justice, but a lack of form coupled with being stiff from hedge cutting made it tough. Definitely a course where planning helps. With a lot of trouble off the back of the greens, playing to the safe area would have been useful. Although I worked this out quite early on, I still couldn't do it.

Well done Querty and Wherediditgo, great scoring in the conditions. A strange co-incidence that I played with both of them. Lucky me.

Hopefully see some of you at the HFH at Luton Hoo, or at the Blackwood meet.

Fantastic day, Fantastic Course and fantastic company.

Thanks to Gary for organising and to Steve (G1BBO), Rob (Full_Throttle), Gary (Region "HUGE" 3) and Andy for two fun rounds and some great banter.

Like Murph I could not stay for dinner and still got home at 12.10am. Hope it was as nice as it sounded.

Definitely a course I will be re-visiting.

Nice one Gibbo and a lovely tee shot on the first. I think you were chain smoking for half an hour before that ;)

Thanks to Gary for organising the day, it seemed to run smoothly from where I was sitting and we all got fed and watered very nicely.

Also thanks to all my playing partners am.(murph, whereditgo and his mate Pete) pm.(Pete,Redwood and Sweatysock).

I had a huge bundle of laughs throughout the day which keeps you going when the golf is tough and scoring nearly impossible.

The course wasnt long but boy it was tough if you went slightly off line , horrible heather and tough thick grassy clumps to tangle your club. The greens were quick but manageable however there were some huge slopes and it was very tricky to get the ball near the hole and keep it there. Most of the greens had a bowl all the way around the sides so if you got caught in them you had a nasty little pitch up and over lips to some nasty pins. Quite often we were caught on the down slopes of the bowls with bare lies which left you basically with no chance of even holding the ball on the green never mind getting close to the flag.

I'm afraid my game wasnt good enough on the day to secure any sort of score. 24 and 27 were my efforts and those points were hard earned.

Anyone who thinks we're all exagerating and they could come and play this course better are kidding themselves. Well done to those who scored above 30 points in any round and well done to the rest of us for keeping a smile on our faces.

Heres a few photos

Fantastic day on a top course, just wish I lived nearer and could afford the mebership!

Thanks to Region3 for excellent organisation and to my playing partners Charlie, Region3, Andy, and full_throttle, great day.

I don't have any pictures unfortunately but I do have some great memories to keep.

One of the most enjoyable days golf i've had, on probably the best inland course i've played.
Although it was a long day it just seemed to fly by and i'm absolutely knackered today.

Thanks to my playing partners for their great company throughout the day, Redwood, Sweatysock whereditgo, Andy, and special thanks to Murph for providing the insulation tape which held on the front wheel of my Powakaddy after it fell of on the 5th tee

Also thanks again Region3 for the time and effort you put into organising the day.

Great day. Great course. :)

Dare I ask why Murph had insulating tape on his person?

Is this something we should be informed of, is it in the public interest..??

Heck, I had already bound my trolley together with it after the rivets snapped on the third in the morning round. It is the universal cure all. Show me an engineer with out it!
The problem with carrying is what do you leave out?

Just want to add my thanks to Gary (Region3) for organising the day, the course was once again in excellent condition.
Thanks to my playing partners, Steve and Richard then Nick and Charlie, apologies to everyone if my golf didn't amount to much.

Regardless of my golf the day was well run and would I do it all again? Of course I would

Great day.

Was a tough course (managed 24 points in the morning and 23 in the afternoon). I think I could probably count the number of 2 putts I had on one hand in 36 holes!! :)

Thanks to my playing partners Dave (Qwerty), Dave (Jammydodger), Mal (Swaetysocks), Pete (guest) and Andy (guest).

Thanks for sticking up that photo Jammydodger (it was all your fault anyway!! :)

Played Royal North Devon yesterday (again in strong winds) and managed 37 points which I guess gives you an idea of how much harder Beau was (although RND isn't a particularly difficult course).

BTW - Rickg loves his iPad, but doesn't know how to type out Qwerty!!! :D
