Cheating Woods Quits Golf To Focus On Family

They are working hard on a damage control strategy. That will involved a soft soap TV interview where he admits to his indiscretions, makes a tearful apology to family and fans and discusses some of the difficult issues in his past which led to this.

It will also involve giving Elin a large wedge if she plays ball for another year or two, and an agreement on child custody thereafter.

Also, some work with tiger and the PGA Tour's major sponsors to reassure them and plan his return.

Why?
He didn't win any last year when he was playing so why should they be devalued when he isn't.

Tiger is not God - he doesn't win every time he tees it up and its about time people realised this. Yes he is the best player in the world and it will give other players a chance to win majors but you can't devalue one just because he wasn't playing. A Major's a Major - no matter where, when or who's playing.

Difference being Faldo wasn't half his player.

Difference being Faldo's break-ups/divorces were nothing like as lurid or dramatic as Woods' ongoing saga drama.

I'll say it again for those who misunderstood...difference is Faldo wasnt half his player.

Say it as often as you like - it doesn't change the fact that the circumstances of the drama were crucial to this story and IMG PR mishandling fuelled it. If you think the volume of media attention is proportional to how good someone is, then you really don't understand the media at all.

Faldo at the top of his game 87-92 was a fantastic talent, not as good as Woods I agree but the best of his generation which is all you need to be. 6 majors including back to back Masters is a fine record, puts him up there with the greats.

Who was talking about all that??? :D

Faldo wasn't half the player Woods is....end of...that's what I am talking about.

I didn't even intimate that Faldo was as good as Woods. The point I was trying to emphasis was "focus"...
Faldos game went pear shaped when his marriage was on the rocks and his private life came under scrutiny. He lost his "focus" and his game went with it.
Exactly where Mr Woods is at now.

Faldo in his prime (and I do mean his prime) versus Woods in matchplay. Could you call it? I couldn't.
