Hey boys and girls - looking to play a cheap course on Sunday in Fife - have identified 2 - Scoonie next to Leven and Anstruther

Anyone played them? Any good? or are they cheap for a reason

I dont want to fork out for a fancy course - and I'm always on the lookout for a new course to add to my 110 courses already played!

And cos its still raining, I reckoned these two being links(ish) might be playable this weekend

all thoughts and ideas welcome tho!

If you want to go to the fish shop, get there early. It's the only chippy I've ever seen with a airport-style queueing system - and the queue stretched out of the door & into the street

Scoonie is terrible if it's rained in the past Month... (ok maybe a slight exageration - but only slight!)
Anstruther is really nice. Depends on what type of golf you want to play. I still maintain that for £20 weekend, Kinghorn is a great links track with some outstanding greens.
That £20 will get you your fish supper in Anstruther... ;)

I've played Kinghorn tho! so thats not even an option - i need a new course ;)
have managed 15 of my usual 30 new courses a year - and we are half way thro the year so am on target...!

Played Aisteeeeeeee.....rrrrr 6 times over a weekend in howling wind and rain. I think i par'd the rockies only once. Also hit thruogh the back of the next hole 6 times out of 6 !

Great thing is that sitting in the bar once you get back in and looking out the big bay windows of teh terrible weather.

Although i'm sure that if it's nice weather it might be quite pleasant, but i wouldnt know :)

PS i was sure the good fish n chip show was in Pittenweem ? My memory must be deserting me ... again

Played anstruther today - not too bad weather - no rain at all - course was a bit soggy, but their greens were grand. the rockies is a truly mental hole! luckily its a par 4 for me ;)

beat the OMID, but i had to go some, was 5 points up at the turn and he went and birdied the 1st for 4 points, so i retaliated with a birdie on the 3rd for 4 points.

must admit tho - he was always going to struggle for a win with his par of 62 and mine of 68 ;)

nice wee course, great pub grub in the clubhouse and even got in on time to watch poor andy get his ass whooped by a superior player

great day out!
