chart hill info

My mate played it I have not had the pleasure. He is a low handicapper(4) and he had a bit of an off day for him but he said it was a lovely place but there are Bunkers everywhere perhaps to many. Give it a go but make sure you take your A game with you to enjoy it properly otherwise it can become a slog.

Played there a few years ago.
Should have played on the beach, would have saved the green fee!
The course looked nice from every bunker I played from.
Best of luck,

Slime.

P.S. Take a spare sand wedge in case your first one wears out .

Lovely course, one of my favs

Try to play off the whites rather than yellows, as the yellows are too far forward and you lose some of the bunkers playing forward. Had a few mates who said it was easier than they thought (off yellows) so I sent them back to play off whites and they changed their tune. No point playing a course like this and only playing 2/3rds of it!

I live about 20 miles away and play it from time to time. It's best played in the late spring/early autumn as its very picturesque than. Yes, there are lots of buckers but most dont come into play and are just there for effect. I, personally, prefer to play it off the blues which is the furthest back tees that they will allow. It's pretty well always in good condition, except when very wet and if the membership was more resonable I may have considered joining. If you do play it I suggest buying the strokesaver as there are tips written by Nick Faldo on how to play every hole.

The 17th is the island water hole, modelled on the TPC Sawgrass (I Think) its always nice to hit the green on that one andI actually like all the holes there. The greens run true and whilst big, if you get the line and pace they do generally drop.

The food is good, but everything is dearer than your own club, but, as a day out I really like the place

Also consider the London Club - it hosted a couple of Europen Tour events recently and they hold Golf Live there

If you want to know more just ask

Chris

Nice course. Yes there are a lot of bunkers but they are all in view, unlike Woodhall Spa which holds hidden terrors if you are not on your game.
If you catch it right, the greens can be terrifying, especially if you have a downhiller. They can be super slick. Some really nice holes and if you are striking the ball reasonably well (which I wasn't the last time I played there :o) you can put a decent score together.
