Hi,

I am attempting to play 5 rounds in a day around my local course in Gloucester. I am trying to raise money for Cancer Research. I don't if anyone has attempted something similar or has any tips to help get through the day. If anyone on here has played at Gloucester, they will know it's not the flattest of tracks around!
If anyone has and information on my challenge, or has any questions, then please contact me.

Cheers,
Stu.

P.S. Dont forget to check out my Just Giving site below!

Firstly welcome.

What kind of endurance activity have you done before, if anything and what preparations are you doing or planning to do.

Diet is key for fuel before, during and after and a buggy with your clubs on and plenty of food & water on board and some good company motivating you.

Stamina and strength is what you need to be working on.

5 rounds within 24hrs, the very best of luck mate.

Excellent cause.

Our old pro did 8 rounds over 4 different course in one day, by the end he was out on his feet!!!

Have caddies
Drink loads
eat regularly
Have ball spotters
Enjoy

Good luck

That's 3hrs per round with no break at all and what about the travelling in-between courses?

That would have to be in the Guinness book of records surely.

Hi Stu, welcome to the forum from a fellow Glos boy (although I'm yet to play the course). Another regular forumer (Aztecs) has recently become a member at GlosGC.

When are you doing your challenge? If you're looking for people to join you, I may be up for it and I'm sure Aztecs (Jon) would do too.

Murdo Macleoud, Chick Murray and Billy Dodds completed 100 holes of golf at different courses on Arran a couple of weeks back. We saw them on Corrie GC at about 6pm - they looked done in!

Alright Stu, recently joined Gloucester back in March and as Lloyd said, I'd be more than happy to walk round/caddy or accompany you for some holes if you want (depending on the date)

Fair play to you for doing 5 rounds. I'm just about dead after 18!

Drop me a PM if you want and we can get something arranged.

He started his 1st round at just after 03:30 (still just about dark) and staggered in at just before 22:00.

He played alone, had a caddy, ball spotters and a good gallery.
