Can someone explain to me how this is even a thing? For those who don’t know, it is a game show where people can only communicate via social media, not really my cup of tea but it takes all sorts. But the thing I really don’t get is the contestants can either be themselves or make up a different personality. Apparently one bloke is pretending to be a single mum and a woman is pretending to be her 25 year old son.
If you did this online in real life it would potentially be illegal, as it is used for scams, dirty old men pretend to be young people to try and commit sex crimes, etc but yet Channel 4 seem to be saying it is ok to do this as it is ‘entertainment ‘

World has gone mad!

In truth it's just a bit of fun - folks being inventive, trying to suss out what tickles the fancy of the others - whilst trying to not alienate others. And it shows the power of social media. Importantly it's not real life, and as they all know they are being watched the risk of anything untoward grooming-wise going on is nil - I don;t think thjere is anything one-2-one - it is all shared as far as I have seen (not a lot). Besides they will all only meet at the end. I actually think it would be better if they all had avatars - and in a way they all can because they can just invent things about themselves and what they like and believe.

I'm sure there's a lot of things you could do on a gameshow that would be illegal in real life. Locking 10 braindead morons together in a house for one.
