I currently play with some kingcobra oversize 2 irons with graphite shafts. I'm after something that gives me more control and spin. I can't get these irons to stop the ball on the green very easily. I play off 18. Next year I'm going to get some custom fit mizunos. But for now I'm looking to spend between 80-140 for some better irons. While I was away in portugal I bought a second hand set of srixon 201s to keep out there, which felt great to control and hit. So think I may want someting forged.

I have been looking at titleist 755's has anyone any experience of them?

If you were any good you'd be able to stop any ball on the green or certainly play it shorter of the green and run it on.

Don't kid yourself into thinking different irons will help you.

Try and get 775cb I had a set of these until I got the MB's and you should get a decent set cheap enough. However as someone else said it is NEVER the clubs.

Don't think it's the irons not stopping the ball and to be honest if you're going for C/F next year I'd keep the 140 notes in my pocket rather than getting an interim set and maybe spend it on some lessons to sort out whatever s preventing you getting any spin

I play off 18, and if I hit it properly ( always a doubt tbh ) I can stop it on most greens with my Benross V6 irons, all the way down to the 5I, and I can't imagine your clubs are any worse.

I use AD333 balls, btw, if that helps.
