Changing grips

I have done it a few times, it isnt that hard, but get get proper grip tape, it is pretty cheap, and white spirit. There are plenty vids on you tube also, but its pretty straight forward.

Changed grips on all my clubs in October, very easy. I bought my grips on ebay so they came with the double sided sticky tape and full instructions for abour £20 for 14 grips.

Have a look on youtube - there are guides as to how to do it. I did my putter first as a trial run. The advice about the 'vice grip' may be true, but i foudnd it easy enough to remove the grips with just a sharp knife. This was all done in my kitchen and my downstairs toilet (for the sink to collect the white-spirit during grip fitting).

Its dead easy, and gives your old clubs a new lease of life!

I did all mine last week. I used Sharpro Dual cord from Gamola golf. Nice grips for at under £2.

Easy and satisfying to do. One tip to add, is to put a bit of masking tape about 1mm below the old grip prior to removal. Mark the center line with a pencil and it's then a simple matter of lining the new grip with said pencil line.

As everyone says, standard grips are dead easy. 'Bubble' grips are a real pig! You are supposed to buy a special tool to get the grip over the unusually wide end of these shafts....I made up a little gizmo to do a mate's club; aided by a few choice expletives it eventually worked. But I wouldn't choose to do another one!

Marvellous result. Went to the range tonight and the rather lovely young lady who is one of the asst. pros is changing the 4 grips for £3 (for all of them).

Picking them up on monday.
