That's my (very optimistic!) target for this year.

I'm currently floating at about 18 so it would require quite a considerable drop, but it gives me something to focus on and you've got to believe to achieve, right?

How did you arrive at 18 if you don't have a handicap? :D

By the look of the course you have joined can't see it would be a problem, despite the TM white monstrosity you can only hit 220 yards. :D

Get a decent driver you could be as shoe in :D :D :D

Cheeky git! :D

18 was my previous active handicap....6 years ago (around a very difficult course!). But the rounds I've played since have all been in that area.

Bacardi - short game mainly. I'm usually on or around the green in regulation but my chipping and putting lets me down immensely. But obviously all round improvement from playing more and getting lessons is going to help me shoot low(er) scores.

The new r13 pink will be out in March :D

Putting, putting and more putting. Thats what i should be doing too but it bores the ar*se off me. easy way so save upto 5 shots a round.

Tough going to get to 10 from 18 in a season. It's a lot of golf and a lot of good golf but not impossible.

I came up a bit short in my effort to get to 11 as you can see from my signature as I kept going through hugely frustrating plateaus - missing out on cuts or buffering through bloody CSS.

One of the most important things is your mental approach. I may have a handicap of 13 but having a handicap and believing that you can shoot it regularly are two different things.

I got a metaphorical nosebleed every time I got a big cut and it took a bit of time to getting used to the new handicap.

But you need goals and mine is to still get to 11 this season. I'll have to play well to do that too.

I came from 19 to 10.7 last year so it can be done, I played more than I practiced and found that to be more beneficial, although, I was unemployed and could play almost every day and I was playing three comps a week too. Remember though not to chanbe all your clubs half way through the season!!

Sorry, I mean good luck :D

Good luck buddy.

I am in the same boat as you, I am currently 15 and I want to be 10 or 11 by the end of the season also. It will be hard but now with some proper irons, rather than some beginner cheapos, I think I can actually do it!

Also my swing was pretty good at the back end of last year and has been amazing on the range since!

Add to that the new shafts in my woods helping me get the ball airborne and some decent shafts in the irons I think it is much more acheivable than before.

Keep us all updated!

Good luck mate after a few lessons and calming down that slice you'll get there. 220 yards was your carry so it was nearer 250 which is 5 iron distance for most on here bunch of bull s***ers.

Oh and the R11 is superb or are you guys a bit green with envy :D,.

Johnthan your are becoming the next Homer by the way :)

Cheers mate (except for the Homer comment )

I simply like talking about golf and don't like doing work. This place helps tick both those boxes :D
