....since I began having lessons.

I bought my current irons before having lessons, but they were custom fitted to my swing etc at the time.

Since I have had lessons and my swing dramatically improved (along with my scores), my recommended lie angle has changed as well.

I used to have a very flat swing and as such a normal lie angle meant that the heel would strike the ground first and I'd hit ball left. So the CF'er changed me to 2* flatter than normal.
However, when I was being CF'd for a new driver we discussed and checked the lie angle on my irons. The impact tape was marked right on the toe.
This he explained to me partly answered why even good strikes etc went right so often.
Based on static measurements alone he consulted the chart which stated I should be at 3 to 3.75* upright.
This was born out by the fact that a 2* upright (the only one he had available) was still being hit from close to the toe.

It's amazing how much your game can change/improve with lessons.
After all I only went for a driver CF because my swing speed has increased as a result of lessons & the help from the GM day/article on hitting further.

Get yourself onto a proper trackman machine and get each club sorted properly. A good club fitter should be able to alter your sticks for you. I now have the proper gap for each club after the loft was altered on three of my irons. Oh, the lie was altered on a couple as well.
