change grip to stop hooking it

hi yall,

my grip alway leads to a horrible hook cause the clubface is allready shut while the club is sitting behind the ball.
if i try to change my grip to adress the ball with a square clubface, it does felll VERY strange.

is this normal?

(maybe it would fell natural after a few times idk.)

It will feel strange for a quite some time. Stick with it though if it works.

Are your grips too thin? That is sometimes the cause, rather than an incorrect hand position.
Something else to look, maybe.

Grip the club in a neutral position and sit with it in your hand watching TV. Keep re-gripping and it will start to feel more natural
