I didnt want to hijack the "want but dont need" thread with a question.

I have been told on a few occasions now that i have a straight through putting action and should try a centre shafted putter to get more consistency on short/mid range putts.

Anyone on here use one or tried one and realised any benefit? My long putting is pretty good with my current yes putter but i am hit and miss from shorter range.

Ag have a rossa one for 50 notes that is tempting me....

ive got 2 yes amy and a ping c67 both great

the shaft keeps you over the ball rather than at side of it
which i find helps
try one at pro shop or golf shop before you buy

Like Grumps i also have a yes Amy, it would have to be something pretty special toget me to change. My putting was shocking but after sorting my stroke and changing from the rossa mallet to the Amy my stats dropped from 40+ a round to very low 30's and sometimes late 20's

Seemore and Scotty Cameron (Newport 2.6) both have centre shafted putters with a red alignment dot as well. When you are in the right position you can't see the dot. I couldn't get on with them though so I went for mine which was nearly face balanced.

I find I miss short putts because I don't concentrate as much and the No 3 Putt training aid is helping me focus on a ssmaller target. If your long putting is ok this might be a cheaper option. HTH

I tried one (Odyssey White Hot No.5 centre shafted) as I thought it would help on shorter putts. Lovely club but like Homer I just didn't like the look over the ball. Didn't like the way the shaft seemed to cut into the profile of the ball if that makes sense. Thought I'd get used to it but didn't. Many do like them including tour pros (I think Jiminez uses a centre shaft and what a season he's had).

Awesome sauce!

centre-shaft Rife 2-bar blade
tried out a C67 recently - nice but but don't need it

centre-shaft just make sense to me and some conventional putters have such a long face that it's like closing a door.
