Bolam wouldn't allow repeats of Likely Lads, which meant the other actors didn't get repeat fees. I understood he didn't want to be remembered for the show, and wanted to be thought of as a 'serious actor' I think he could probably afford to as he was in a lot of very poular tv shows afterwards, where as Bewes career never really took off after the Likely Lads.

What a totally fabulous memory to have. I'm totally in awe and just a little jealous.

Always sad that Bolam and Bewes had a falling out a while ago, as I believe Clement & La Frenais could bring The Likely Lads up to date as pensioners and make a totally brilliant show.

Never met or seen anyone famous on the golf course - although once in a blue moon I've come across someone who looks a bit like someone I think I should know off the telly.

Regarding the above, met Rodney Bewes once in the course of work. A total arse, and full of his own self importance. He even tried the "do you realise who you are talking to ... " line on me. Git.
