Celebrity spots

Ossie Ardiles and Rickie Villa were behind me round Brocket Hall a month or so ago.

Also had the pleasure of pairing up with Mark Cueto last week round Dunham Forest week before last.

Top bloke and it transpired he was a good mate of one of my old Shipmate from the Navy. This means i am now back in touch with my old wing man and planning a reunion session in a few months.

Great day to be honest

Phil Dowd at Porthpean. Ironically only a few months after he screwed up our chances in the Carling Cup final in 2010 after not sending off Vidic.

We get a fair few at Bearwood Lakes. Footballers, rugby players, that dull game with wickets, a few actors and TV types and a few tour players doing corporate. Recently, Samuel L Jackson, Alice Cooper, the kid from Sixth Sense and others were there, but I missed them.

It wasn't Ian Wright.
I want to say it was Bobby Zamora but I am not 100% sure if that is right. It was definitely a recent footballer, played in the top flight.

Glenn Hoddle was out in Spain at Motecastillo a few years ago for training with which ever youth set up he was involved in. He wasn't playing golf, they were just out at the same venue at the time.

Mark Bright, think he's the other one involved in the charity stuff.

ooops, should have gone back thru the thread :o

Pancho is a member at ours(see him most Saturdays) as is Phil Jagielka(not too often) and his Dad(most Saturdays) and have played a round with Clayton Blackmore at ours also.

I stopped off at Chelsfield Lakes near Orpington about 18 months ago to use the range and ended up in the bay next Mr Gianfranco Zola and his son.

[QUOTE

When I was very young I chatted to Max Bygraves on the first tee at Parkstone. I said I was very young !!!!;)[/QUOTE]

Crikey - if you were young he must have been embryonic! :D:D Boom boom.

Damon Hill practices a lot at our track when his son races/used to race at Snetterton, and a few of the Norwich City players have been seen around the course paying a green fee!

Played a society day at Hindhead recently, saw a figure that looked familiar in the other bar but wasn't quite sure. The figure then spoke and all doubt was removed. I popped next door and shared a joke and had a chat with Peter Alliss. I know he's not everybody's cup of tea, but I will enjoy The Open much less when he packs up commentating.

Kevin Davies and another Bolton player were on the tee ahead of us at Rio Real a few years ago and the same night were at the bar in front of us at Linekers.

a few years back I was asked to accompany the Captains guest, he was Steve Ogrizovic (coventry city fa cup winning goalkeeper)

more recently I was on the adjacent fairway to Paul Broadhurst, and we spoke at the bar

I was at the Belfry during the Iceland ash cloud problem when all the Sky football crew turned up as they had to cancel their Andy Gray charity bash in Europe and decamped to the Belfry. They were a rowdy lot in the bar and doing karaoke but luckily my room was at the quiet end of the hotel. The next morning they all went out in buggies right behind us. Gary mcAllister was really pleasant and spoke whenever I saw him which he did at The Grove when I stood next to him watching Tiger tee off

I was hitting at our range when Razor Ruddock, who used to come to matches with his dad when I played with his two brothers many moons ago. He had just picked up a new set of - yes! Razor x irons and scrounged half a dozen balls to hit before he played. He hit them crap and scrounged a few more. I did also bump into him at the Belfry on a forum meet when there was a footballers charity game there although I didn't see any of the other guests

Luca Vialli shanked a tee shot off our par three 7th the other week went literally 90 degrees right infront of us coming up the 6th. Very apologetic he was.

Saw Stevie G at Quinta Do Lago in March. Gordon Strachan, Roberto Di Matteo and Ian Bell members and seen a lot at my club too. Daniel Craig lives next door too!
