but we have a guy who won the PGA and US Open being kept out.....if that makes you happy, so be it,
I would have liked to see if he could have made it three.

It's just a forum guys, but you are the first Pom's I have ever met that did not want to see a Pom win three majors in a row.

I thought it would have been great.

It is about LIV...it can only be about LIV.
There's a LIV event on at the same time
He's contracted to play in it
Even if he was invited he wouldn't be able to play.
What does he want? An invite so he can turn it down?
Whats the point?
If he breaks his contract it will cost him far more than he'd make if he won it.

Irrelevant. He is contracted elsewhere.

Of course we want a British winner...other Poms are available!

No one ever cared one bit about the senior majors. No one classed them as proper majors in any serious way. Suddenly a certain group of golf fans have elevated them and want them taken seriously.

Same with Bland, he’s a bang average pro that’s won 1 event in his life and done nicely for himself along the way.

No one else cares. Yes it’s nice for a ‘pom’ to win one. But in reality, the vast majority of people will have forgotten about after 5 minutes.

Bland could have entered Open qualifying. It doesn’t get more Open than that!

There is some irony in complaining that someone isn’t being given an exemption into an Open event

I'm guessing that more than half the field this week are exempt from qualifying.
And that every major winner for the last 5 years will be there as well.
So, there is some irony, but it's probably not what you think it is.

Is that not the Open itself as opposed to the Seniors Open ?
