Just in time for Christmas... in case you feel like asking someone to give you a four-ball for next year - here's the exclusive and private Carnegie Club, not far from Royal Dornoch.

The club offers only 8 lines a week for green fees, and a line will set you back £1,200... so that someone will need to love you very much!

Photos here.

played it a few times, makes Muirfield seem over used by comparison.

its got some nice links holes on the front 9 now after its re design a few years ago. The back 9 is very parkland like, nice finishing stretch of 3 holes.

Ultimately though they don't really want anyone to play it. I think i they even asked not to be rated by GM in the top 100 last time.

£1200 for a 4 ball is just not worth it.

one day - looks very nice. A mate I haven't seen for a couple of years is or at least was a member - have been meaning to tap that for a while :D

someone i know was a member until the crash, it was £10K per anum back then and there were restrictions.

When we have our club match against them , its all Americans who come over just for that

No golf course IMO is worth paying £1200 just to play

The reason i was able to play it was the SGU got so many times and each club had to be quick of the mark to snap them up ,it cost £60 which included food before and after the golf and as much Gin as i could drink:thup:

Was that before Ellis Short bought it Steve?

They used to let the locals play it for bugger all,but you are more likely be shot by his wife now though:rofl:
