Had a go on one of them comparison sites. First off as normal, 3rd party f+t. Comes in at just over 1100. So for a laugh I tried fully comp... £734!

i could ask how or why?? But I won't bother, it's a crazy world we live in!!

My Van Insurance is cheaper with my tart as a named driver than me alone on it!

do you have a garage? if you tell your insurance co you keep your car in a locked garage, your premium will be higher than stating its parked on a driveway!!! due to the amount of claims from people dinging their car trying to park it in the garage!

Also look at adding a second driver with a good record, your mum, wife/GF etc...

You'll be doing well to match my renewal from a couple of months back "£224 that's a result, happy with that....... Hang about! That's the monthly direct debit!!!!!!" total premium was £2,500(ish) for a 12year old diesel 406! and that's with 6(I think) years no claims!

Fully comp these days is the more invitingly priced policy as insurance co's have woken up to the fact that TPFT drivers tend to run about in scrappers that they dont mind crashing so much as guys and dolls that had to take out a loan or pay a huge wad of cash for something newer/more expensive. All about the risk.
