Subject to reasonable clubface angles (not going to be leaving the thing open that far!)...

1. Pull-fade (out-to-in path, clubface closed to target)
2. Push-fade (straight path, clubface square or open to target)
3. Draw (in-to-out path, clubface open to target, clubface closed to path)
4. Straight-push (in-to-out path, clubface open to target, clubface matches path)
5. Push-hook (huge in-to-out path, clubface open to target, clubface closed to path)

The point of the post was to show how ball position can affect ball flight. It's hard to hit a pull-fade off the back foot (the swingpath is acutely in-to-out at that point) and likewise a push-hook off the front foot is equally as difficult (swingpath isn't in-to-out at all).

Learning about what does what and why can help your game, although mastering ONE position is a good start :)

I think Homer has mastered No5
