Calluses on fingers

Afternoon all,

Does anyone else suffer from calluses on their fingers from golf. I've begun to get them on the outside of the knuckle on my index finger left hand and the outside of my ring finger on my right hand. After a round they are quite painful and sore.

Does it sound like my grip is wrong or am I doing something else incorrectly during the swing?

Can anybody offer any advice?

Check out Ben Hogans 5 Lessons book, he actually provides you with diagrams indicating where you should be developing calluses on your hands.

If memory serves they should be heaviest on the left hand around the pinky, ring and middle fingers. And the middle and ring finger of the right hand.

I have it on my index finger on my left hand. Always thought it was from gripping too tight but even loosening my grip hasn't stopped it. Just got used to it now and doesn't hurt anymore!!

I have the book but these are more on the actual knuckles, I think its them rubbing together.

I have calluses on 2 fingers of each hand and one on each of my palms. I also have one on the outside knuckle of my left hand fanny finger where the little pinky overlaps on my grip.

I have 4 on my left hand ( I'm a right hander)

1 at each base of my lil finger, middle finger and the on between. Then 1 near the crease on the palm under my lil finer about 1/2cm from the base of my fingers.

Then I have 2 on my right hand, at the bottom of my middle finger and ring finger.

I feel my grips are a little thin and they twist in my hand at least 3 or 4 times each round. My usual shot is straight but quite often a sliced tee shot?

I'd be happy to have 3 calluses on each finger and 5 on each palm if it meant hitting it straight and being able to shape it

Ok then I thought I was gripping incorrectly or too tight or something

No I have them too. I often thought it was because I practiced too much but clearly not
