Well I finally picked up my X2 Hot 4 Wood yesterday - about 3 weeks later than estimated originally. The 7 wood arrived late too but have had that in the bag for a couple of weeks. When I saw the 4 I felt something was different but not sure what. Got it home and the pattern on the face is completely different. The 7 has simple white lines and the 4 wood is much "busier" with a central sweet spot marking in a sort of gold colour. The head of the 7 wood is also smaller.

So, googled the images and the simple white line comes from the "pro" version of the club. The pro version however has a plain crown and both my woods have the orange and white decals as they should.

I have emailed the pro and Callaway and await a response but am wondering what's going on? Should the head sizes within the standard range be different or does it indicate one is the pro head with the wrong (standard) crown markings. Or is it expected the head sizes will differ by loft so perhaps the wrong (pro) face has been applied to the standard head...

Any thoughts? I'm thinking that whatever the reason I should expect the 7 wood to match the 4 wood - certainly in terms of the face markings? It may not impact upon performance but I'd expect both clubs to match the manufacturers standard.

The 4 wood head should be a little bigger than the 7 but I'd expect the face markings to be the same.
Curious......

Thanks Ian. That answers one of my questions so looks like the wrong face has been applied although surely that would be smaller as it belongs to the pro version...curious indeed!

are these the mens or ladies versions?

the place that sells Callaway in Inversneck has 4 versions on display ald all look different
