Callaway Elyte driver

Surely it is only those with the skill to modify their swings that can properly compare drivers ?
The most of us have both inconsistent swings, and are unable to modify them in any consistent way. So while we might swing different clubs, we are not at all testing the clubs themselves, but only how well they suit our particular swing (with all our well engrained flaws). Thats why we have to get fitted - to find the club and setup that best suits what we do with it.
By the same token when the club is being changed in these types of comparisons, it is not only unreasonable, but scientifically incorrect to then insist it must be used with the same swing. To expect all clubs to match any one given swing makes no sense. So adapting the swing to get the best out of a given club - which the likes of Crossfield has the skill to do - is the fairest and best test.
Well if you were doing a proper comparison of clubs you would get multiple people with all different swings to test both of them, but your average YouTuber isn't going to be sorting that out. When companies do robot testing do they change the robot's swing between clubs?? If Crossfield wants to adjust his swing for each test he should use both swings for both clubs at the very least. 😁

I tested all this years new drivers, I gained nothing with the Qi35, GT2, Ping 440, they were all getting the same numbers as my 2019 M6.
I gained 10 yards and a tighter dispersion with the Elyte but it couldn't match the extra 12 yards and dispersion of the DS Adapt X.

I picked up the DS yesterday, can't wait to get it out on the course tomorrow and test it back to back with my M6.

Apparently you should have got a 2nd hand G10....... ;)

I actually agree with both of you - reviews in total are pretty pointless for the average golfer (whatever that is). Too low a handicap and they are too consistent for the results to be useful to us, too high and they are too inconsistent to get a good spread of results.
Much better to try them yourself and see what suits.

I had a driver fitting at Precision Golf at the beginning of last year. Mentally I was absolutely set on getting the TM QI10 or the Ping G430 Max although was willing to try everything to see which suited. When I spoke to the fitter I said that the one brand that I didn't think would be worthwhile looking at was Callaway as I have never got on with them. Anyway, 90 mins later I was handing my hard earned over for a Callaway AI Smoke driver......

Lets Play Thru giving it a rave review on youtube. So really seems a marmite option. Maybe it does work for some, but its problems torpedo it to a dud for others. He as other drivers to test though, so could yet bute the dust.

I had a fitting for woods fitting at Precision Golf last Friday. Tried the 2025 range of drivers and the Elyte was the best one for me.

Went Standard 9 degree head with neutral weight with Mitsubishi Diamana Blueboard shaft. 4 wood with Mitsubish C6 Blue Shaft

Decided to see what the gapping is like with the new irons and what I have in the bag to see if I need to go down the 7 wood or other route with another hybrid.

Played with a bloke (5 hcp) at my club yesterday who was taking his new Elyte driver out for the very first time...he'd only picked it up two days before (funnily enough we were in the same shop at the same time) and hadnt even taken the cellophane off as we stood on the first tee.

First tee shot was abysmal but after that he spanked everything hitting all 11 remaining fairways or at worst, missing 3 of them left by a couple of feet. Having been a dedicated Titleist golfer for many years he was absolutely delighted with the Elyte and the control, not to mention a few yards distance gains (he is an older golfer who isnt the fastest swinger) that it has given him. He was also rocking an Elyte 7 wood which brought smiles to his face every time he hit it!

I also turned up with my new Elyte 3 wood and after taking a couple of holes to get used to the thin standard sized grip (I play MCC+4 Midsized normally, despite having small hands), was also very pleased with the solid performance on offer, including hitting a green pin high from 190yds out....will be replacing the grip later on today ready for the club comp on Sunday.

I watched Gaz Beadle (Gaz's Golf) doing his new driver fitting yesterday, he's been a Ping fanboy using the 430 max for two years or so. In his fitting he ended up with the Elyte (not sure which model though - maybe just the standard one).
