Just a reminder for the Ballyliffin event/qualifier for the GM centenary finals, there is still time to get your name down for this bargain of a weekend which takes place in June. Guinness, grub and two world class links courses, what more could you ask for?

More details Here

I have to say, as much as I dont want to go into the bunkers, they look great!

and a nice easy fairway bunker too.

The two courses are very differnet yet share the same stretch of links property.
The Old course is narrow and slightly shorter... and difficult. The Glashedy links are newer, longer and wider but have bigger, deeper bunkers... and is difficult.

Any more takers? There are guys coming from London and various parts of Scotland so no excuses!

I'd love to play a course like this. Sadly my holiday days for this year are rapidly running out...

Pah they even have poofy steps into them
I think the idea is that by the time you stop trying to get out you will have to drag your sorry arse out, steps help. :D

:D

Paul McGinley is doing some redesign work at our place and thankfully the bunkers are flat facing the tee but going towards the hole you will need a bloody mountain guide to get out.

Pah, call those pitch-marks bunkers? You've obviously never played the 4th at RND:

Nah those are sandy wastegrounds with an easy slope out for the ball, hell even a misshit will get up. Those on the Glashedy require a bit of talent and good fortune in the first place to stop somewhere that will give you a swing.

Btw castle stuart has a few of those sleeper bunkers too. ;)

I have been looking at this meet and seriously thinking about it, but I think this course may be well past my current abilities. Have to get myself a handicap first and see how close I can play to it.
When is the closing time for entry?
