After suggestions for a speaker for our log cabin (4 x 3).

Was hoping to expand the Yamaha system, but with our soundbar packing up, I may look to replace the whole lot ?

If it's good sound from small speakers you are after, the Bose Companion 20s that I bought for PC speakers are extremely good - and I've experienced some very good speakers in the past (B&W DM2s, various Kef 104s and others c/o my dealer brother).

I've got both Sonos (wifi) and Mega Boom 3 (bluetooth) which are both good. The MB3 is portable and has a decent battery life when not using it in the charging cradle.

We wall mounted a single Sonos 1 in our BBQ hut, more than adequate for the size of room which would be similar to yours, sounds good for background music and still loud enough to keep teenage parties happy. May depend on what "ecosystem" or brand you already have and what source of music you want to play.

Will be streaming to it mainly so anything you can cast to or connect to our WiFi so we can access our music which is on an SSD attached to the router

Depends on the type of music and what you want to spend.

I recently got a Cambridge Audio EVO 150 all in one streamer for my living room to replace my old Denon amp that gave up.

Let’s me connect external sources and has a Phono stage for my turntable.

Hi-Res streaming via Quobuz or Tidal has been an eye-opener in terms of quality.

It does need speakers though as the all-in-one term on this and the similar NAIM systems is a bit misleading.

Yes, it was pricey but it’s used a hell of a lot and if I get 10 years out of it then that’ll do.
