Bye bye shanks

Saturday- 60 balls
Today (9am)- 60 balls


I'd say 200 of these were shanks.

Had to go back an hour ago, determined to conquer them and FINALLY got rid. What a scary 4 days it has been- golfing psychological breakdown!

Now I know what causes them (and now can hit a shank on demand ) I'm delighted to be back in the land of push draw.

Wasn't taking the club away around my body enough, or hardly at all. 'Hands in' is a major fundamental for my swing and it took me a hellish weekend to realise that I was negating this.

Don't take this as a cure for shanks though. Many pros would say that this move would cause you to hit too much from the inside and present the hostel to the ball first.

too strong a grip and trying to hit a fade with an in to out swing is a sure-fire way to hit a hosselrocket!
