The Darlington supporters rescue group turned up at the ground with £50,000 to keep the club going for the next 3 games till more talks can be held.
Basically it's all to do with the land, there was a clause put in the contract when Reynolds bought it with what could and couldn't be built on it.
The new potential owner wants to use some of the land for leisure/homes so the council are willing to be flexible over it now.
But the last chairman is owed £1.8m and said he would walk away and not ask for the money he is owed but now this has come about he wants some sort of deal as the council denied him any planning permission on the land.
So hopefully over the next few weeks it will all get sorted hopefully.
52 stewards have volunteered to work for free for the home game on Saturday as well as ground staff. So I just hope we get a massive crowd on Saturday to boost the funds a bit.
Shame really that the fans turned their backs on this club. It's the same principal as your local Pub or Post Office. You either use it or lose it. I feel a bit sorry for the 10 men and his dog who went week in week out but overall I say the people of Darlington should hang their heads in shame this weekend. They have effectively forced death upon this once respected Football Club. I bet the monkey hangers are loving every minute of this shambles.
