I have a set of Burner 2.0 irons coming that i'm looking to have adjusted - bent to 1 degree upright. I've heard conflicting reports about whether this is possible. Some have said to me that they can't be bent permanently and that the irons will eventually just return to their original state.

Can anyone confirm or deny either way. Obviously i could ring a pro-shop and ask, but possibly someone on here can shed some light.

Just to add, clubs are second hand.

Hmm, thought you could only do this with forged irons. I think cast would snap or maybe have metal memory that makes them return to the place they were cast at. I am sure someone will know for sure though.

Na, maybe I am talking crap as they do it with Pings.

The Champ,

Yes you can bend cast clubs but make sure you get someone who knows what they are doing to do it. They are more difficult to bend but one of the benefits is once they are done they wont go back easily. I.e. if you bend a forged club 1* it would probably need to be checked and bent again after a short while. With cast once they are bent they should last a lot longer at the new spec.

There is also no "metal memory" and they wont return to the original setup unless they are bent back.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that HookedGolf, that's exactly what i wanted to hear. I know i've had a few Vokey wedges adjusted and was always told it was possible with them up to a max of 2 degrees. I was concerned that the steel that the burners are made from may be a little harder.
