I think the bit that got my goat was two pros/ trainers give differant thoughts on how to play the same simple and basic bunker shot.
Is there not a PGA pro standard format of how to play a shot, or that shot.
When people train to get there coaching badge, surely they are all taught the same basics, so at what point does that change.
I can understand that the better you get your expectations change from getting out in three, to getting within 3ft of the hole.
But is it the norm to have differing views on what should be so basic.
Bunker shots are a bit like putting, it does not really matter what 'style' you use so long as you understand the 'workings of what you are doing and have sufficient control/touch/repetition.
I always found bunker shots dead easy and they were the strongest part of my game.
Hundreds of hours of practice out of quality bunkers as a teenager probably helped as well.
Bunker shots are the shots you seldom see the average golfer practice.
If they hit as many shots practicing with a sand wedge as a driver or putter they would knock many shots off their handicaps.
