I use a push trolley, but tried a buggy last night due to injury and had a great nine holes, but do you see a difference in your golf if you use a different way of transporting your clubs?

We deliberately drove very slowly from shot to shot, not bombing around like you see alot of the time, the only reason it was used was because of an injury meaning I couldnt walk around the course. What I did find was that my heart rate was lower and I was able to stay stable during my swing. The other thing that may have made a difference was the sat nav showing the distance from the green, which was very useful.

I have always carried, but am swallowing my pride and getting a trolley. Just can't hack it after 12 holes carrying these days, especially after work where i don't sit down all day. The mrs came for a walk round the course the other night and insisted on carrying my bag and i felt fresh as a daisy, but she's a lot more expensive than a trolley.

You also cant fold her up, put her in the boot of your car and forget about her until next week.

I'm not a huge fan of buggies to be honest, especially if you have to keep them to cart paths, I would only ever use one on a holiday\golf break. In order of preference I go...

1 - Carry
2 - Trolley (don't care which)
3 - Buggy

Where you lose out in a buggy. is the walk up to your ball when you are looking ahead (and to either side) where your next shot will hopefully head.

I've only ever been in a buggy once and quite liked it. Not sure I'd like it all the time though, I like walking the course.

was on the samne round as Gary using a buggy, it was ok but I prefer to carry and have my clubs next to me in case I decide to change shot choice/club. I use an electric trolley aswell but have to say I definitely prefer to carry, just wish my body was as obliging :)

Not that I know of. I like Buggys until the moment I need to change clubs and my clubs are in the back of a a vehicle that is mysteriously not in my vicinity.

Keeps me fresh and it's nice to zip straight down to my drive (all 240 yards) and get on that green a.s.a.p.

It also saves the 4 minute uphill walk from 8th green to 9th. :o :D

The above did make me chuckle.

To answer the OPs question, generally a pull cart, unless I'm feeling flush or time is short and a buggy is really handy.

Carrying a bag is not an option as it kills my back.

Use a push trolley but will be buying an electric trolley in September. However, I am seriously considering carrying in the winter as we have to use the dedicated walkways on the edge of the fairways if we use trolleys and its a hell of a lot longer walk.

Everytime I play with my mate he always insists we get a buggy. Hes a lazy sod and the 1 time the club didn't have a buggy he was puffing out of his arse by the 10th.......................on a completley flat links course.

Re: khamelion@blueyonder.co.uk

Love to carry but it's just no fun in the rain.

Ping moonlite pencil bag in the sun

Callaway stand bag for when it's not too hot

Then it has to be electric trolley with brolly holder for those infrequent rainyndays we get.

Also have bagboy push trolley for when the powakaddy breaks (frequently)

Fave is pencil bag

Cheers

Steve...

don't really like buggies, you feel so divorced from the course.
hate following them - they are no quicker as usually the people in them have forgotten how to walk and have to drive to each ball - even when they're 20 yards apart.

Speed depends on the players. I shared one at Hawkstone and we were round in 2:50. Incredibly quick, so much time saved.

Do you now what really annoys me? When on opposing fairways, just as you are about to hit your ball, a flipping buggy drives straight off the other fairway onto yours, parks, a prat gets out, spends two minutes setting up and then hits the ball back onto his fairway, then drives up your fairway, to take a shorter route to his ball. Aaaaargh.
