Unusual topic to bring up, but playing today saw the return of flies and flying nasties around, and they annoyed the hell out of me. Lost count of the number of times I managed to eat one as they were buzzing....so, any really good bug sprays to get the little blighters to not bother me?!
I have tried some in the past, but they were utterly useless really...

Unless you totally cover yourself in it, it won't work. A fly still has to land on your skin for it to know your not desirable. Thus deciding not to bite. the irritant you speak of is the flys landing on you

I use Jungle Formila, had a problem with Horseflies the size of jumbo jets that when bitten my arm or leg would swell up twice the size, use the spray now and I've never been bitten since, great product 👍

I used to use an Avon product when up at Faslane, it was tortuous up there, like being attacked by the Luftwaffe 😡

It was called Avon Skin so soft , but i heard the formula was change and doesn't work as well since.

Yes that's it, I think they weakened it for some reason and became less effective.

The Jungle Formula I buy from Lloyds is excellent now though and does for me.

Where were you playing? No sign of any insect life at my place today. Still too damned chilly

Marmite is the solution. Eat it rather than spreading it on yourself. Went to Africa with the ex Mrs Colch and I ate it every day but she hated the stuff. She got bitten to buggery but I wasn't touched. Marmite on toast for breakfast and you won't get bitten.

My home track. It's pretry much in woodland, and did get up to a balmy 14* according to the car thermometer (which aren't to be 100% trusted I know). Did play in just a t-shirt though!

Some tea tree oil behind your ears, on wrist points and ankles should work. There's also Smidge. I won't use chemical ones.
