I do think I got it wrong mate, the hotel mentioned is on the Pest side (opposite side of the castle if i'm correct?)
It's only about 50 meteres away from the Danube though so is in a great location!
yep, that'll be ideal

Are you better to take Euros or Hungarian Forints with you?
Does one get you more value than the other?
Forints - why would you take euro's? not everywhere takes them and if they do the rate is terrible
Yup, been and loved it and often asked myself, why have I not gone back.Just back from here. It's our second visit. We've had a great time. Stayed in a beautiful appartment in Buda, near a tram stop. Walked for three days. Then age caught up with us and we used the trams and the buses. Whizzed about. 24 hours a day they run, some of them. Certain bars out of the centre £2 quid a pint! The "Ruin Bars" not so. Charging the same as any other City Bar, but sooooooooo cool. Ended up chatting to an American couple for an hour. Sank three pints of Hungarian Cherry Ale, yup it does sound awful, but it's NOT! Found a brilliant restaurant. Walked there first time. Bluddy google doesn't give gradients!!! Phew. Right up in the hills. Superb food though. Proper restaurant. Went back on our last night, but used the tram and bus, which stopped right outside. If only we'd looked the first time! Due to wife ( Tour Guide Barbie as she is known on holidays), being heavilly involved sorting other things before we could go, she slipped up with organising the baths trip, which she was a bit disappointed from not going to, but hey!, we'll go again next year!!!!!!! It's an awsome city, with superb architecture. You walk around looking up, not down. The people were fantastically friendly and soooooooo polite!!!!! It was a pleasure to walk around. Oh, and safe as safe could be, even in the dark nights. Never felt in any danger. I could say why, but go yourself and you'll see why.
Brillant!
The Ruin bars are great. Try the Cherry Ale!!!!! Margaret Island is worth a visit after dark, as there is a huge fountain which has music playing and the jets of water are lit up and bounce around in time with the music. It's brilliant and mesmerising. Use the trams and buses to get around. They are constantly whizzing aound. Buy a 72 hour (3 day ticket), as you don't have to get this authorised, it is date and time stamped with the end date. Use the Bud App to tell you where they are and when they will arrive at a stop. The further out of the centre the cheaper the beer. Centre about £4.50, further out little bar we found £2 and deliciousMy son has booked with his mates for November. He hasn't been before. Are there any specifics that he should go to? The Baths sound like something to do, anything else?
Or is it just a place to wander around?
