Hey,
I started playing about a year ago and I was given a set of Taylormade super steel burner irons with bubble shafts. I had a lesson few weeks ago and was told the clubs are to long for me but will need a new set as you can’t shorten bubble shafts. Just wanted to check this is correct before I invest in a new set? Thanks

Off the top of my head - wrong

Shafts are overlength when new and are butt trimmed to the required length when the clubs are built.

Long time since I have seen a set of bubble shafts but it may be about the grip getting too close to point where the shaft slims. If you are still going to have a reasonable gap after trimming then I would say it can be done.

However cost could be a major factor. Grips for Bubble Shafts are quite rare and quite expensive

although if you are happy with cheaper brands
