Brought down to Earth at range figs today TM r11s

I remember seeing ball speed at 165 once, but unless it was when the SS was 110 then that would make it around the 1.5 mark give or take. JO you were saying the smash factor was low?

For a centered hit off a 110mph swing you'd expect a carry in the region of 265yds. (range balls would obviously be less carry but the machine should be callibrated to take that into account).

If you're getting 240 or less carry then either the machine isn't callibrated properly, you weren't hitting the sweetspot, the shaft wasn't suited to you or you simply had a poor striking day (low smash factor).

If you were going to get fitted I'd suggest going elsewhere... or at least try your own club else you've not got any idea if the new one is better or worse than your own.

a lot were nearer the heel or toe apparently, whereas my own club is more centred, a different shaft could maybe help these figs but they were adamant, stock shaft only!

I'm not sure exactly how trackman works but how are the figures affected using range balls compared to a decent premium ball?

I've said before that I'm keen for a fitting and I'm considering the RBZ but I've never liked hitting range balls off an artificial mat on a rubber tee with restricted height adjustability and I worry that this could potentially affect the outcome of a fitting as it doesn't come close to replicating hitting the ball off a tee or fairway on the course. Also doesn't help that I'm quite tall and on some mats my heels are on the rubber edges of the mat
