Having noticed it in this months mag, i'd be interested to hear if anyone here has played Brora. It looks outstanding, and i love the fact that you could take an unlucky bounce of one of the resident sheep or cows!!!

So, what's it like and is it worth the trip if you're in the Inverness area?

Came across this as well.

On a sunny day it is an absolute delight. The fence is only a single wire well back from the green itself so doesn't come into play, if you think you might hit it just pull a stake out and lay it down, play the shot then replace.

I loved it, played 36 there last May. There is a great variety of holes, its not nearly as tough as Dornoch but its still a good test. 17th's a beauty, par 3 7th is great, whole thing is good. Didn't like 18th much, other than that great.

Cattle thing is good, they keep out of the way....just dont wear red!!! Can be well off line but still get a lie thanks to the grazing of the rough.

Play it if the weather is ok.

Our annual trip - next month - is to that part of the world. Brora and Royal Dornoch are already on the list - and probably Nairn. Based just outside Inverness. Any other recommendations anyone?

Tain & Nairn Dunbar are the other two best courses in the area, Backswoodsman. Both very good additions to those you mentioned.

I learned my golf at Nairn Dunbar and while it's a tougher course than the rest (CSS 74) it's in great nick and always good to play. Take lots of balls !

Unfortunately you're just too early for Castle Stuart, which I believe is gonna be better than them all.
