Playing football last night, got tackled and landed badly... Screamed for the first time in my life and I've broken the top of my foot - basically where you'd tie your laces.

I'm due to fly on holiday on the 14th. Was due my last society golf of the year on the 13th. Was sick with pain this morning.

Trying to figure out how I can shower without killing myself.

Ouch that must have been so painful. I damaged the top of my foot when one of the dogs decided to plonk a paw on top and then stretch. Nothing broken but crikey it hurt. Hopefully you'll recover fast and the pain will ease.

Get yourself down to A&E for your plaster and BIG BOOT.
Forget showering, I hear there's some nurses there that give you a bed bath first! ;)
Female and male according to preference! :devilish:

I experimented with standing on my good leg whilst kneeling on a plastic stool we had... Wasn't very satisfactory so have gone back to bed baths until I am sufficiently recovered to stand unaided...

You do need to get to A+E though...

I went to a&e last night when it happened, I'm in a boot and have crutches.... Got to go back in Wednesday to see the fracture specialist to see how they are going to treat it.

Toilet and teeth were done kneeling the bad leg on a chair.... Shower was with a towel on the floor of the bath and standing on one leg. Getting in and out was difficult.... The side of the bath was cold on my ass.

My sympathies

Plastic bags taped over the plastercast.

If you are talking about a shower cubicle, get a plastic garden seat. If it an over the bath one put towels down first so you do not scratch the bath.

Ouchy. Not good and hope it doesn't impact the holiday. I'd be careful showering on one foot and getting in and out of the bath.

Thanks fella, the Mrs was standing next to me handing me each bottle and ready to catch me.... Although I'm a bit of a lump so it could have ended badly 👍

As I say be careful. If you do fall the good lady may not be able to get hold of you and it could end badly for both of you. I'm sure you'll find a way to get it sorted.

You have my sympathies. I ruptured my cruciate ligament and strained my medial ligament playing 5-a-side. Damned sore I can tell you and I couldn't play golf for a year. On crutches for three months, physio for a further nine and had to rebuild my game when I got back.

Screwing me eyes up and me bum cheeks have gone tight reading this. The amount of times over the years I have wapped over on me ankle and screamed out loud. When one of me ankles snapped being tackled playing footbal with kids at a bbq. I still sweat.
Get well soon.

struggled into work today with the crutches.....lift to the station then a short/hop to get on the train. Once in London (jesus those platforms are long) then a cab to work (£15 one way), then the long hop into the office.....left me absolutely shattered.

Plus side is that I now have my laptop so can work from home once I repeat that journey home tonight, so thats me done for this year....I'll work from home for the next 8 days and then my annual leave will kick in until the new year.

Just hope I dont get a cast put on as I'd like to swim when I go away next Friday.

A few weeks back I went to the range to try and hit some balls, after about 5 balls I realised my foot still wasn't right so left the rest of the bucket.

So here I am 87 days after I broker my foot....this weekend I'm going to try the range again and see what happens. It's honestly made me realise not to take your health/fitness for granted.

Good luck with that, think you'll just have to play through the discomfort now as it should be healed but all the muscles/ligaments/tendons will be needing built up and loosened up.

We recently got an electric shiatsu foot massager with heat option - maybe something like that will help with discomfort, aid circulation etc, we think it's great?

Get walking, it's ok trying to play, but 18 holes plus the twisting etc etc will take it out of you. Do a five - 6 mile walk and see how your foot is the day after. Positives, it's the rubbish time of the year for golf. Aim to be right for May 1st, Qualify time. 👍
