Early round on Saturday morning, carded an 87 and that was with quite a few three putts.

For the first time ever I didn't hit a single shot scudding along the ground. Every shot was airbourne and travelled a decent distance. That's like manna from heaven to a hacker like myself.

Many congratulations!

The next target is to make rounds in the low 90's your bad rounds, and the exception rather than the rule.

Well played Kellfire great breakthrough!!!! Looking forward to hearing more positive stories in the near future. Keep it up!!!

PS If you are open to golf psychology you might want to try Bob Rotella's Putting Out of Your Mind book. Helped me no end.

Well done matey. It must have been a weekend for it as one of our regular greedy members had 43 points and posted his personal best too. The secret is to keep it going and not get stressed if you can't

Just pointed up my round. 43 points for me, too. :)

Out today and hit an 81. Highest score all day was a six and just one of them! Highest included a drained putt from off the green to save par and hitting to five foot from 150 yards out of some terrible rough. Really got the bug now, gutted that winter is fast approaching.

great job sir, i will remember my first 99 and my first 89 for ever. I have yet to hit a sub 90 at my current club though and am looking forward to doing so and posting, I have hit 90 there more than once.

Blimey Kellfire, you didn't just break 90, you smashed it to smithereens

Well done that man - I recently posted about breaking it but haven't done it since. :(

Golfmmad.

My round on Tuesday was 47 points and it dropped my handicap from 28 to 21.6...

I went out today... and hit a 78!

What the hell is going on with my game at the minute? I also hit my first birdie in ages.

I should point out at this stage that the course I play is only a par 66, so don't think I'm flying down towards scratch but to go from never hitting below 90 to hitting a 78 within a week of breaking 90 is really pushing me on.

SOme cut in such a space of time. The shock will come when the good run ends (hopefully not for a while yet) and you suddenly don't have that comfort zone to play with. Mind you I'd put up with that and enjoy getting down to the new figure. Well played

I know it won't keep happening, I'm playing a course I know like the back of my hand and that definitely aids the confidence levels. A good test will be playing Salgados without my own gear. That could be messy.
