Bridgestone e6 balls, any good?

Just wondering if any of you have any views on these balls as I've had them recommended to me. Anyone use them currently or in the past? How are they for cutting up as they are supposed to be pretty soft.

I've use them, amongst others, good for distance and don't cut up. since I can't (or not often) get a ball to spin back they work fine for chipping short and running in or coming in high.
 
Good balls, just be aware that they don't spin as much on partial wedge shots as the premium balls.

Another ball to try is the Bridgestone FIX, a very good ball that goes a long way and has plenty control around the greens.
 
was hoping to see a few posts here as I am currently using the orange ad333s and they do the e6s in orange too. Similar price, has anyone got a strong opinion on which is better before I blow £15 of the hard earned to find out ?

Normally use yellow balls for visibility, find them much easier to track and locate than white (must be the age), but now the dandelions are in flower the orange is way better. Bizzarely, I found that in the winter, when the grass is a darker green than the current burnt offering, the orange was really difficult to pick out, even on the fairway. hey ho...
 
I had a half a dozen and quite liked them, not a soft as my usual DX3 bu a fraction longer off the tee and straight. I never got on with AD333s but that may be because my game was pretty rank at the time. Certainly worth a try, I do not think that you will be disappointed. If you want more spin over distance though, go for the E5, good spin but noticeably shorter.
 
I have just been trialling a box of e6, they're OK but they don't give me the same distance as the XFIXX or the AD333. I have a pretty slow swingspeed, so don't generate much in the way of smash factor, so the two piece balls seem to work better for me. The sales guy in Direct Golf at the weekend was trying to get me to try the B330 , which he said is designed for slower swingers. I'd be happy to try them, but I don't want a dozen until I've tried them and am sure they are the right ones. Seem's you can't buy s sleeve of 3 in a major store....

Just for info, smash factor isn't how hard you hit the ball.
It's ball speed divided by club speed, so just an indicator of how well you strike the ball.

Just for info (!!) it is not just that. It also is affected by COR of club and ball and by the Spin rate. A heavier club in the hands of a stronger player (all other things being equal) would also deliver a higher smash rate.
 
But all drivers ahve the same (maxed out to the R&A limit) COR. Spin has zip to do with smash. Weight of club? Mimal I would think. Mainly it is to do with hitting the sweet spot.

Anyway, the main thing is it isn't related to swing speed.
 
smash factor is power transfer, a measure of how you get the energy from the club to the ball. supposedly the optimum for a driver is 1.5 (it is less as you down through the clubs) and there is nothing to stop someone with a slow swing speed having a high smash factor.
My driver swing speed is around 86 and I can get smash factors of over 1.5 when I swing properly and stop trying to kill it!
 
Smash factor was probably the wrong phrase to add there..... I meant that my swing speed was pretty low, therefore not conducive to the balls made for higher swing speeds.

I have been trialling the Z-star and the e6 which seem pretty good on one day but not the next. At the weekend it was seriously windy down my way. I played on 4 consecutive days and struggled badly with distance on the first two (Z-star & e6), I switched back to an AD333 on day 3 and was instantly surprised at the difference in ball flight and distance, it performed much better for me over daysa 3 & 4. I recently had a long chat with the manager in Direct golf about golf ball technology, it was quite informative, and I would like to try and find a 3 piece ball that works for me but I'm now wondering whether to just stick with the XFIXX/ AD333, or to give the other two another try in less windy conditions? I'd also like to try the B330, just don't want a dozen until I've tried 'em.....

I use the Bridgestone Balls, B330 and B330-s.

If you want to try some I could send you some "used" ones (i.e. played with already) if you like? Maybe a couple of either as I've a load in my golf bag and a load of new ones I got on offer?

No worries just let me know. Not easy finding a sleeve of 3 balls anywhere these days! My local shop does 2 packs to try some makes of balls but not the Bridgestones, that's a pretty good idea I thought, how I tried the DX3.

From memory, according to Bridgestone's website last year before they changed it, B330-S is for 100mph+ and the B330 for 112mph+

If you'd rather try a Bridgestone better suited to your swing the B330-RXS might be worth a try. A few on here like them a lot.

The RX and RXS are the ones I'm looking at.
