A little while back there were a few high handicappers aiming to get the lowest handicap by the end of the season. Mine hasn't moved, stayed static, not going anywhere, well actually if I don't hit a PB on Sunday it will be going up 0.1.

Anyway I was just wondering how everyone else was getting on and whether we had defined what the end of the season actually was (I seriously need to get my **** in gear!)

Our season "ends" the end of October when we stop handicap adjustment and start on winter tees which is not a measured course.

I'm 5.8 and started off 5.4. Target was to get down to below 4.9 (my lowest ever) if possible but stay off 5 minimum so currently failing that. Overall have played much better though this year in terms of steady scoring but without any "great" rounds. Hope I can turn one in during the next few weeks and get back down. Won't lose any sleep over it though.

In terms of bragging rights I did shoot a personal best, 67, although in other departments h/cap has gone UP by 0.5 this year and most of my golf has been totally pathetic so I have nothing to brag about.

That said, I do have a nice shiny driver that hits it further into the trees than the old one...... :D :D :D

LOL!!! But if you hadn't hit James and sold it you'd be forever wondering whether you made the right decision. I'd rather take the reduction in value and give it whirl. Our medal season continues through the winter (weather permitting) and we also have a Winter League is that unusual?

I wanted to get down to 20 after starting at 25 but sitting at 22.2 at the moment and running out of comps. Went up 0.1 the last 4 from 21.8 so maybe hit my plateau for this year.

That puts you in the lead CF, well played!

I'm missing our October medal because I'm going to Scotland with HID who is running the Loch Ness marathon but I can't take my clubs as we can't fit them in the car. Absolutely gutted! Not sure whether hiring is an option because I'm custom fit and just cannot hit standard sized clubs for toffee. As a result I think I only have 3 medals to play as it looks like the 'Bragging Rights' comp will draw to an end in October.

Highest 9.7 and lowest now 7.9, plenty will beat that but considering I joined the club at 6.0 it's starting to go back in the right direction again.

Started at 11.3 and gone to 12.0 so not really a disaster mre frustrating that there are plety of good shots which are being ruined by one or two bad holes per round. It's in there but not quite coming out at the right time.

Aim was to get to single figures, which looked unlikely as i was heading to 13, but two good rounds in the last month has got me down to 9.8. Beginning to feel like a real golfer again, after hacking around the last two years.

May even get the confidence to play in some of the meets on here. :D

Began the year on 9.6 and stayed fairly steady, a couple fo .1's and a small cut and a couple more .1's and I was up to 9.8

Then my best competition round for years saw me cut to 9.0 - the lowest I've been for about 6/7 years. If I can knock another whole shot off then I'll be lower than I've ever been before.

Come down from 8.3 to 6.5.
My target for the year is to finish on 6 or better. I was off 6.4 for a few weeks.
Have played a few times and hit personal bests, 76,74 & 73.
I have sub'd for the clubs scratch team on occasian.
My putting has improved no end (on average 3 putts per round better than L/Y) and I'm hitting more greens in reg'n.

So for me it has been a pretty good year thus far.
