Boxing/UFC 2018-25

I think I heard this morning that they both made about £12m from the evening. That's a lifetimes worth of money from one night. Whatever the standard, they put bums on seats, made a fortune.

In a world where Jake Paul makes more than that from his 'matches', at least these two are genuine.

Steve Bunce stated that he hopes Eubank retires, he said he looked old and empty last night. Hopefully he does this, takes the money, lives a nice, healthy life. Don't keep taking the hits.

Benn usual weight is 144lbs (65kg) Welterweight so stepped up 2 classes for thee fights. He in much better and shows good power at that weight. Eubank Jris a super middleweight so usually fights at 168lbs (76.2kg) he can’t fight at the lighter weight and isn’t good enough to go back up.
Eubank hasn’t fought at Super-middleweight for quite a while. I think he’s done. Or hope he is.

That’s my point it’s his natural weight and he’s shied away from it for a long time now he has no future and hopefully he knows that, walk away with the money now and protect the body and brain.

Just seen that Mark Kaylor has died aged 64. Mark was a local lad to me and in the mid 80s I went to maybe half a dozen of his fights at York hall, Wembley and the Royal Albert Hall. He won an ABA championship but never won a world title. Don’t know any details of his death but 64 is no age. RIP Mark. ⚒️

I know it’s all about money but it’s a fight AJ can’t win with.
If he was to lose then that’s his career finished.
If he wins so what, it doesn’t get him any closer to challenging for a belt.

Can see him jobbing about for a bit fighting loads of random people until him and Tyson get it on when they are well past their best for an absolute fortune win or lose.

I fail to see how this is anything other than the end of his career. Top level fighters really wanting to get another shot at a Belt or at Usyk don’t take this fight. It’s a cash cow, it’s embarrassing and sadly will still draw a huge crowd.

What Joshua needs to do here is knock him out quickly and then pull the “why not” line. People have been begging for someone to shut Jake Paul up and this is the perfect opportunity, but fully expect Jake Paul to come back with some line if that does happen.

And if For whatever scripted reason AJ doesn’t win, fully expect Fury to come out with the “why should I fight you when you couldn’t beat someone who got beat off Tommy Fury”

AJ will come out of this with loads of cash and if he knocks Paul out in the first round I don’t see how his boxing credibility gets weakened.

It’s already weakened by taking this fight. It shows zero ambition to be at the top of his game and anyone choosing to fight Paul isn’t a serious contender they’re already at the end of their career seeking a payday.

AJ needs some time in the ring, they were planning a fight with someone relatively lowly ranked anyway. This fight pays him handsomely for the same thing pretty much.

I fully agree if he doesn’t anything but knock him out quickly he’s credibility takes a dip. I just think he can come out of it and pull the “I shut him up and showed him the difference to a top level fighter” line.

All AJ wants in the next 18 months is a fight with Fury, he’s been outclassed by Usyk and is not the best in the division anymore anyway.
