In old German (Anglo Saxon) it means a stream or spring, as in Winterbourne, a stream that's flows in the winter.It's not only foreigners that are a bit daft in that area....
What do you think 'Bourne' actually mean? So Bourne Mouth (or Bourne End) is fine, but calling it the Bourne River or River Bourne.....![]()
