Got bored this afternoon so made a forum!

If this post contravenes forum rules could the mods delete please.

Obviously it's not up to GM standards, but a beginners attempt at a forum for golf in Yorkshire as we don't have anything like it locally.

Open to anyone, feel free to have a browse. If you like the look of it pull up a chair and post away.

It's obviously a Yorkshire golf forum but is open to others from outside God's own county as well.

No doubt a certain geezer from down south will join under an assumed name and troll mercilessly!!!

Had a quick look and not a bad effort. You must have been sooo bored to resort to doing it though

Nicely done Basher, however I do have some observations.

Unless you intend to advertise Nationally the only ppl that will register and post will be your friends and people from this forum who are from Yorkshire, this means your poster base will be very limited, certainly not enough to warrant different regions within Yorkshire.

My sugestion would be that to attract players to your forum you will need an 'angle' ie something different than just chit chat about golf which to be honest is already serviced here.
Maybe a Yorkshire golf course critique or maybe grass roots information on accommodation or travelling within Yorkshire or something else particular to Yorkshire.

I understand what you mean and take on board your comments. To be honest it was just a beginners quick foray into the realms of cyberspace as a means of alleviating a very boring Saturday afternoon.

Hopefully word of mouth may expand the forum. Sure, there are the Yorkshire guys on here (and further afield), most of whom play at their respective clubs. All it takes is a whisper to their non GM forum friends and the site may grow.

At the end of the day (God I hate that phrase!) it's just a little hobby and provision of a platform for discussion for the fellow golfers of Yorkshire.....and beyond!!!

C'mon all you Yorkies get on board. No one wants to replace our cherished ancestral home GM but as a side shoot it could work out great. Get behind basher he deserves a bit of support for going to the trouble of inventing it.
