Blue greens

Lots of blue chemical on our greens this morning. Any idea of what this is?

As a point of note they looked the best they have in the past 6 weeks or so. Top condition again!

Probably some sort of fertiliser for moss. No signs warning of chemical spraying by the first?

We were called out to a pool of blue chemical in a big pot hole outside a school. Despite me saying to the officer in charge " we are next to a golf course, its fertiliser for the greens, the green keepers drive up this track many times a day"
They closed the road for 3 hours, mobilised a hazard identification van from Sheffield and kept the kids in doors all morning. The van took a sample and they said " its fertiliser, you can go" ffs

Its just blue so they can see when it has been applied, or so I was told.

Wetting agents are included in the mix to help the adherence or spreadabilty of the chemical that is being applied and not routinely applied as a stand alone product.
My guess in this instance is an application of iron sulphate

Wetting agent is applied regularly when a prolonged period of rain is expected.

Spoke to our Hreenkeepr this morning - it was wetting agent with a bit of fertiliser mix ( as you said ) they put on this week which was blue

A wetting agent is used to aid water penetration, improve root zone and growth of the roots by aiding water and nutrient efficiency in the roots. It can be used as part of a water management programme for the golf course.

I don't really need to justify myself however my mate is a "headie" at a local course. If I don't know I'll send a text!

Just had a quick google and see the ones used on lawns/greens are different from the ones I used to use when applying agrochemicals although their mode of action is similar in that they break down waxy surfaces. Every day is a school day :thup:

No worries as explained above looked it up and read what you quoted , every day a school day as there are more than one sort of agent and i used to earn my living by applying them to 1000's of acres per year.
