Have been really looking forward to playing in the Seniors Open at Orsett GC this coming Wednesday.
Paid for my entry some time ago, and my mate Ray Taylor is in the same fourball.
Weather forecast looks good, I am playing reasonably well, and it was going to be one of the "highlights" of the season for me.
One salesman on holiday and the other two have both been signed off work sick, so that just leaves me to hold the fort.
I know full well that I am going to be told no day off this week, but I can guarantee that the sales manager will still take his day off.

Struggling to put this into words so not to upset anyone, but boy oh boy those salesmen must be VERY sick to be signed off work.

PS I'd go. It's your holiday, your money, you've complied with the companies rules, I assume. Not your problem.

"Exigentcies of service." An employer almost always has a clause in the T&C's which state that they can ask you to work whenever due to exceptional circumstances, e.g. the workforce off sick, witchcraft etc.
