bloody panic buyers

I filled up on budget day, from flat empty as usual. Bloke in front 'beat the budget' by topping up £15. Knob.

If I'm not heading off anywhere I don't use much fuel but it still runs out so I might just put £15 - £20 in, that might be enough for a week or so. Nothing wrong with that.

Today I'm heading up north so really filled up - had to queue though!

And the latest is that the strike is off so the only ones to benefit from the panic buying were the fuel companies having a bumper couple of days!

I believe that due to the drought there's every possibility of a beer shortage this summer...

I wonder if the goverment will be advising us to top up when possible and to store a barrel or three in the shed for emergency's...

I filled up Weds night where I usually go. V-Power was 146.9 I think.

I had to go to Yarmouth Friday night and because of the Woburn trip Thursday I had enough petrol to get there but not enough to get back as well.

Went to the usual place on my way home from work and they had run out of petrol, only had diesel.
Went to another Shell garage I know on my way to Yarmouth. They have about 12 pumps but only one was in use and the queue was around the forecourt and onto the road so didn't bother there. Went past a Shell garage in Guyhirn with no queues so topped up there. 155.9 !!! :angry:

Nae bother in SW Scotland , drove past Tesco in Ayr and there was one car on the forecourt.
Perhaps we can see through the hype.


Question.
Does anyone know if a bridie will be taxed like a pastie? We wouldn't want a bridie queue at Greggs tomorrow.

Is this a devolved issue?

During a previous fuel 'shortage' I was told of a garage in the midlands that hiked its prices by 10p a litre... Once 'normal service' resumed enough local drivers withdrew their custom that the garage ceased trading within three months... Got what they deserved methinks!
