Well tomorrow I have a completely free day so I'm planning to give the golf swing a good going over. :D

I'll prob start with going to the range and hitting every club in my bag and find out how far I hit each one (I've grown a good 4 inches since I last checked).

Then the short game, god knows I need it. An hour on that. ;)

I think I'll then finish off with a dozen holes or something.

I'm unsure what made me post this :D, but out of interest have any other forumers ever spent a day at the club like this???

Used to do stuff like that a few years ago when my missus was working and I did shifts. Had up to 3/4 days at a time to myself so would go to the club and just practice all sorts of things. Jeez my short game was hot back then , however it's just average now that i've started playing again and I'm finding it very frustrating that I cant do the things around the green that I used to do blindfolded.

Enjoy the day

Adam, I think (imo) your time would be better spent on the course. Why not play a few holes and then practice a bit (on the clubs you may not have used much or need some work) then get out there for some more holes.

Personally, I tend to find hours on the range or practice area no substitute for getting on the course and playing tee to green.

I'm the opposite , time spent practicing is time grooving shots that you need out on the course. It brings confidence to the table when you need it under pressure

36 hole Open tomorrow. Have to play a friendly team game this evening too an hours drive away which I'd rather have avoided partly as I have 36 tomorrow and I aint no spring chicken anymore and partly as the wee lad was up at 5am this morning and I feel tired and tiredness equals crappy golf usually! :(

A lot depends on your practice facilities. If you only have a range with mats then I'd be on the course. But if you have a proper practice ground then I'd practice in the morning, have a spot of lunch, then have a round, then a spot of tea and then another round - sprightly young-un like you shouldn't have a problem.

No way could I do all that in one day at my age

We have a grass area about 270 long and 80 wide so it can take anything you throw at it (well maybe not some of the forum members' drives) ;)

I flit between there and the chipping green so I dont get bored and sloppy
