I'm looking to regrip my golf clubs but can't decide which grips to use, I'm currently using Golf Pride but fancy a change. I've seen that Softspikes have now brought out a range of grips called black widow that look pretty cool, has anyone tried these?

Just as an add on to this question, how much are grips? And roughly how much would it cost to get someone to regrip all the clubs? :D

Grip price varies. Anywhere from £4 to £10 depending on what grips you go with...Should be able to pick one up for £5 or £6 that will be good though.

I desperately need my irons re-gripping.

Grip prices in pro shops *usually* include fitting. So if you get them from your local shop it will cost you however many grips you need so £40-£60ish.

you do not have to pay a pro to do your grips, anyone who can use a craft/stanley knife can do this themselves in around an hour for a full set of 14 clubs. All you need is:
A Stanley knife
A roll of double sided grip tape, it's only about £4.00 for a roll
A bottle of white spirit and a cloth.
You do not need a vise, I've done mine lots of times without one.
The rest is easy look here check out the video, hope this helps.

Well, all I would consider is that black widow had early mover advantage in the spieks market, and they are miles behind Champ now. Stick with golf pride imo.

I use the black widow tour cleats in my shoes, that's how i first found out about the grips - http://www.bwgrips.com

have a look here to see if they have anything that you like. Certainly had good service and prompt delivery from them in the past. Prices are good and postage is at a reasonable rate.

Do you play Black Widow clubs as well?? Would you recommend them??

No i have a set of wilson clubs, haven't seen any black widow clubs, what are they like? I've not been playing golf for that long, my clubs were given to me and the grips are a bit worn out.

[/QUOTE]Well, like I say, their spikes are shite, so why would you go for their grips?

Prompt delivery. I should say so.

I ordered some bits and bobs last week on a Sunday evening over t'internet, and got them 9.00am Tuesday morning. That, to me is incredible. Process the order, get it in the post by "last post" and voila.

I though the £2 P&P was great. I saved more than that on the prices I paid.

:)

Very, very happy; now enjoying 4 rubber tees at the range.

Yep,ordered a set late on Thursday and they have just dropped through the letterbox this morning. Guess what I'll be doing this afternoon :D

Which grips did you order? Can you let me know how you get on with them please? :)

Got a cheap and cheerfull set of Golf Pride Cord Tour Wrap, since it's an old set I'm using. Took about an hour to remove the old grips and prep the shafts then another half hour to put the new grips on and adjust alignmen etc. Simple job really if you take your time and prepare well.

Played with them yesterday and they felt great. Nothing like a cord grip to hold on to in hot weather !
