Oxfordcomma
Challenge Tour Pro
I played the Oxfordshire today, they've got a good deal on right now - £40 for full english breakfast and 18 holes. And good god it was brutal! I haven't played in wind like that since Hillside!
Par 3, 125 yards - 6 iron just about did it.
Par 3, other direction, 155 yards - hit 8 iron and that was at least a club too much, was very lucky it was a mis-hit.
And yes, I know, before anyone lucky enough to be a member at a links course says anything, that sounds fairly standard, etc, etc ...
Very good course, I have to say, I enjoyed it a lot despite the breeze. Fairways are a bit soft in places but holding up pretty well, trolley routes and some areas of the rough were definitely boggy. They need to put a trolley ban in pretty quickly. Greens were excellent though, looked great, ran true, and loads faster than you would expect an inland course to be at this time of year. I'd definitely like to go back there and experience the course with perhaps just a 1-club wind.
