We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!
Some of the gathered brethren foolishly smiling on the first tee
The Champ in action, Mike "GM Editor" Harris (tx for the pint, Mike, I owe you one)
View from the bothy on the 6th where myself, Madandra, DCB and TOMO21 holed up like Scott of the Antarctic when the hailstones struck. The land in the distance is actually Gullane Golf Course.
The rest of my photos are awful, as was my golf, the weather and the M8 on the way home. Still, the company was, as usual, excellent and DCB's birdie net eagle on the 1rst was a thing of beauty. J_F once again the Master Organiser. Roll on next year and the next meet.
Finally got to a computer to log on and read the verdict on the Craigielaw outing. Thnaks to J_F for all his sterling work as host, it really was a great day despite the weather which was undoubtedly the worst I have ever played in. It was really great to meet all the Scottish boys and enjoy a bit of banter
Thanks to my playing partners Boabski, Clarky and Brian for their great company and keeping the spirits up on the way round. I think the personal low point was when I had just doubled the par 3 6th from just off the edge of the green, the heavens opened and halfway up the next hole 366 yd par 4 which was playing into the teeth of the storm (driver, driver, wedge!) the rain cover on my bag got ripped off by the win and was last seen sailing towards Gullane Bents!
I was chuffed to take home the bottle of Johnnie Walker that Andy (SS2) brought along.
Played Hollins Hall in Yorkshire this afternoon - only a few light showers and light wind gusting to 30 mph - pah kids stuff.
Will definitely be trying to get a whole UK and Ireland meet set up for next year with after match drinking factored in
Thanks for JF for organising this outing , yes the weather was as bad as described by the other golfers/mad sportsmen .Looking forward to the next one.Now adding mitts / hats / balaclavas to my Santa list .
well guys i have finally thawed out after Friday and only now got the use of my arms back to type anything, nah only kidding i have been working. it was good to get to another forum meet and have a good day out.well done to the guys that won the prizes and thanks to J.F and Mike for organizing the event.well done to all who attended despite the weather , even though i kept going and finished the track i played like a big coo and gave up when i couldn't feel my arms, so maybe the first in history to NR on a stableford completely with no points
