Biggest Regret - Clubs

Having just added up that I have 80 clubs dotted around the house, it came to mind that I had actually had a couple of clear outs, and my biggest regret was trading in an original Ping Answer (Slazenger grip) for a Ray Cook putter that did not last a summer!
What's your biggest regret? or am I too sentimental in this age of fast paced developing gear?

Getting rid of my R7 irons. I hit them really well but got lured by the call of a set of shiny new Callaways and thought they were going to be the thing to save my game.

You see homer there is the problem, you went on to buy the r9s like the big club ho that you are. You should have went and bought back a set of r7's!
I regret selling my mizuno pro II's, they got me to 6 and when I gave the game up, should really have held onto them.

Selling my Mizuno TP9's that I used to love. To be honest, I am not sure I would ever play a competitive round with them, but I still wish they were in the cupboard for summer knock arounds.

Aren't those Ping Slazender putters worth a mint now?

Sold my well used standard R7s and got a set of TP R7s. Nice bats, but I sold them soon after and got a new set of Std R7s again. It will take a really good set to move me now. R9s, me no like.

Back in the day I had a set of Wilson Patty Bergs which I loved. Persimmon woods which I could hit like a dream and irons that felt superb in my hands. They got nicked from my locker and with the insurance money I went and bought a set of Sundridge graphite shafted efforts. They were too long for me and I shanked them all over the place (resulting in my record of 25 shots on the par 4 5th at Mitcham). I swapped with my Dad - Wilson 1200GEs which I then traded in for Mizuno TP9s. These were superb clubs but far too good for me so then stunted my golf development.

So, to answer the OP, I should have replaced the Patty Bergs like for like or, taken some good edvice from a pro. Bob, why weren't you on the forum in 1986???

You techie!!! I had a Commodore 64 with tape. The Amiga had a floopy disc drive.........

Yes they are, and it felt really nice as well. I really should have kept it.
I looked in to replacing it from Ebay, but I really do not trust anyone on there!

Never got tired of that. Took ages before I could hit anything even remotely like it again.

I remember now. The head cracked after contact with a stone I couldn't see. I could have cried.

My biggest regret is snapping my driver in a pro-am last year. I didn't try to break it but i wasn't trying to not break it. The shaft suited me but is now discontinued so couldn't repair it. Took me a while to find a suitable replacement but still not settled with it.

It hit a bad shot and got slammed into the ground...........think it had already been weakened.
Fortunately the resulting 8 put my score up and i finished 4 behind the winner
lesson learned!!!!
