Stupidly I didn't realise it was multiple choice until after I'd voted. If someone can add an "I'm fed up" vote for me to go with my "leave the hole alone" one I'd appreciate it.

It would be better if del wouldn't spoil threads with his inane dribble every time someone mentions putting. In fact, give him long enough and he could turn a thread on any subject into a campaign for a bigger hole. The forum is fed up with it.

I'm not fed up with it. I just don't read it. As with any other thread that looks tedious.

Why would I want to give away/have a lesser advantage (... In matchplay) over someone who is worse than me?

The actual numbers in the poll look totally skewed to me.

Voters = 72.

Option A = 57
Option B = 6
Option C = 36
Option D = 5

Adds up to way more than 72, and the percentage totals add up to way more than 100%...................... is this a poll-gate, a conspiracy?

Just back from a trip to Ireland and I can't say I have read the other thread it looks a little long. Surely though we are missing one of the obvious options to vote for.

The hole should be smaller. It would bring back the true essence of golf, precise control of distance and direction. These shakey jakeys who can't putt would be sortred out and you wouldnt need to have overlong courses to protect the score.
Ideally there would not be a hole and the hole would be completed when the ball is at rest in contact with the flag. Save on greenkeepers time in cutting new hoes and replacing them.You could make the flagstick a little thinner to ensure precision and it would easily be put into the green.

Or have 3 holes on every hole.....for the big one you +1 shot, for the small one you -1 shot and score as normal for the normal hole.

Or, put 3 holes on every green. One which feeds to the next tee and the other 2 feed back to the tee you started on? Imagine getting a hole in one, then the ball pops up back at your feet.. You'd be gutted!!!

We should definitely make the hole bigger.
Golf is about hitting the ball as hard as you can and as far as you can. Not this namby-pamby tapping it gently on the short grass!
Speaking of which, can we have a poll about the maximum length of the rough as well?
